For all of my adult life, I've identified as a writer. That included roles as journalist, fiction writer, and podcaster. I've also been an entrepreneur, starting the local website Baristanet in 2004. But starting in 2018, I returned to a childhood love: creating visual art. I was inspired by my friend Noel Nowicki, who turned to painting after retiring from a lifetime as a physician.
After trying oil pastels, oil paint, watercolors and gouache, I now find soft pastels to be my favorite medium. Some of my originals and reproductions are for sale. If you are interested, contact me.
